Daisy Ridley replaces Angelina Jolie as Tomb Raider heads for reboot
Daisy Ridley, who stormed on to the big screen in Star Wars, is favourite to take the place of Angelina Jolie’s shorts in Tomb Raider.
Apparently movie bosses are finally ready for the remake and Daisy, 23, has taken their fancy as Lara Croft. Writer Geneva Robertson Dworet, who is overseeing the new Transformers film, is in charge of the storyline.
A source said: “Tomb Raider is becoming a reality. Bosses see Daisy as a potential Lara due to her athletic skills and Brit accent.
“It’s not a done deal but Daisy has made a real impression.”
Recently Daisy, who played Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, said she had no idea what she was doing with her life - even though she is deemed to be a huge success.
The Londoner is the first woman in a leading role to have her movie earn over two billion dollars - now effectively replacing Hunger Games Jen Lawrence as Tinseltown’s big earner.
