English Premier league side, Aston Villa have suspended Gabby Agbonlahor pending an internal investigation following newspaper allegations that he used nitrous oxide - a legal high.

The club captain featured on the front page of Tuesday's Sun newspaper, partying on the night Aston Villa were relegated from the Premier League.

A statement on the club website read: "Aston Villa Football Club has today suspended Gabby Agbonlahor pending an internal investigation.
"This is following allegations concerning his conduct at the weekend.

"There will be no further comment from the club in relation to this matter until the investigation has been completed."

This latest Agbonlahor incident comes just weeks after an investigation into his behaviour during a break in Dubai in which he was seen smoking a shisha pipe.
No action was taken over that matter but Black later decided the player's condition was not of the required level and ordered him to follow a personal fitness regime for two weeks.
Agbonlahor was informed of his suspension and investigation at the training ground on Tuesday and whilst the internal investigaton is carried out he will not be allowed into Bodymoor Heath.

Sky sources understand that the club feels that this is a 'second strike' following the shisha pipe episode two weeks ago. He does however remain innocent until proven guilty as far as the club is concerned and will therefore be on full pay.
