BREAKING: President Mohammadu Buhari declares for second term

The long awaited announcement from the presidency on whether the President Mohammadu Buhari GCFR will contest in the 2019 General election has finally been made public at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the ruling party APC on Monday. According to Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President Media & Publicity in a post credited to him on facebook said,

"President Muhammadu Monday in Abuja declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019.
President Buhari made the declaration at a closed-door meeting of the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The President said he was responding to the clamour by Nigerians to recontest in 2019, adding that he wanted to give NEC the honour of notifying them first."
The presidency further tweeted to affirm the intention to seek re-election come 2019.

The National Executive Council (NEC) meeting was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and other APC governors.
