The Manchester clubs ready to spend big for Leo Messi and Neymar
From L-R: Neymar and Leo Messi |
Leo Messi and Neymar are objects of desire for the biggest clubs in the Premier League. They are all fighting for the dream of having the Barça superstars in their squads, but they also know it will not be easy to sign them. Their release causes are in theory prohibitively high, yet the top English clubs are reported to be ready to get their wallets out to secure the Brazilian and the Argentine.
Top selling British tabloid The Sun states that both Manchester United and Manchester City are tabling multi-million offers to secure the two players.
“One billion pounds” is the figure The Sun mentions in its article about the interest of the two Manchester clubs in Neymar and Messi, who were both absent from Barcelona’s Club World Cup semi-final win over Guangzhou Evergrande on Thursday.
Messi’s buy-out clause is some 225 million euros, while Neymar’s is 190 million, but the newspaper claims the clauses are no barrier for the cash-rich outfits, who are happily digesting the recent £5 billion Premier League TV rights deal, stating: “Money is no problem.”
In addition to smashing transfer records to sign the two world class forwards, the two clubs are ready to offer them lucrative salaries, handing Messi 1,310,000 euros over three years, while Neymar would get around 1.2 million euros a week over the same time period.
However, praising the two players from the Camp Nou will prove a difficult task for the Manchester clubs, as both Neymar and Messi have always shown their loyalty to Barcelona.
