Breaking: Soldiers engaging members of Islamic sect in gun battle in Okene

 

 

Men of the Nigerian army are currently engaged in a gun battle with members of the Izalla Islamic sect in Inike, Okene in Kogi State.
Mr. Abubakar, a witness at the scene, said exchange of gunfire started early Tuesday morning after the sect bombed a military truck.
Residents in the town have been indoors for fear of being hit by bullets flying all around. Abubakar told Nigerian Times that it was the same sect that bombed the Department of State Services (DSS) office in the town about two months ago.
